If one of you says to them, 'Go in peace keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." In James 2:14-17, it says, "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. The Bible also emphasizes the importance of generosity and compassion towards others. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." One of the most well-known passages is found in Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus says, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
